The plastics industry accounts for 3 main sectors: in the agro-industries, the construction industry and the packaging industry.\nYounes Lahlou, the president of the Moroccan Federation of plastics industry declared to our\u00a0Ecofin Agency counterpart that the ecosystem has been conceived in Morocco in order to support companies and by the way creating jobs opportunities in the country.\nAfter\u00a0the official Moroccan data, the plastics industry register 650 companies. Together they are generating almost 1,5 billion of dollars turnover a year but the Moroccan officials think they could reach a bit more than\u00a03 billion of dollars.\nThis is a great source of employment, with 475 000 jobs opportunity including 75 000 directly and 400 000 indirectly in 2023. Today the plastics industry is employing 352 000 people including 52 000 direct employees and 300 000 indirect employees.\nThe market assessed to 1,36 billion of dollars represent the second most important transformed market in the chemical industry.
