Private vehicles that operate only through batteries will be fully exempted from customs duties and other internal excise fees.\u00a0\nAs for the hybrid cars (using both gasoline and electrical energy) they will benefit from a 20 % decrease in\u00a0customs charges and fees. Public transportation vehicles will also be the subject of a 10 % cut in the same tax assessments.\u00a0\nLebanon is hoping that such measures will engage consumers to turn toward clean cars.
