She took the head of CMI in order to use her experience to help Mediterranean countries to be able to face \u201chuge challenges in terms of climate change.\u201d\n\n\u201cWe want to build alliances and synergies with partners\u201d\nDuring an event held in Marseille last week, B.Moreno agreed to explain to us why climate change was one of CMI\u2019s programs. The goal is to approach climate change in terms of integration and so Moleno considers that the Center\u00a0\u201c\u00a0is willing to build alliances and synergies with partners, that\u2019s why climate change is one of our programs and we try to approach the issue from the perspective of energy integration\u201d.\nSo, although CMI is not specialized in environmental issues, they have to \u201clook at the repercussions in terms of adaptation and try to identify solutions\u201d. The point would be to take advantage of the spatial proximity of the European Market and its connections to South Countries. According to Moreno, this vector is to be seen as \u201can opportunity to develop renewable energies\u201d to answer the issue of carbon emission for example.\n\nBlanca Moreno Dodson (left), CMI.\n\u201cThe Mediterranean countries conceal\u00a0renewable energy sources which are an opportunity\u201d\nTherefore, the CMI wants to concentrate on expanding renewable energies and also on building strong basis for the\u00a0interconnections between the southern and northern countries. The mediterranean area could become a large market that \u201cshould integrate all of them\u201d. Moreno underlines the fact that the mediterranean area is targeted because it suffers \u201cconsequences of climate change much more than other region of the world.\u201d\n\u201dTechnology and innovations can help face the challenges of Climate Change&#8221;\nMoreover, the\u00a0CMI wants to promote and boost renewable energies in the Mediterranean countries\u00a0as they\u00a0conceal\u00a0potentialities of renewable energies like wind, sun and water.\u00a0To that extent, technologies and innovations can help face the challenges of Climate Change.
