US President Donald Trump has, indeed, formally recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel in December. \nThe Central Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization\u2019s (PCC) thus ratified that Washington had \u201clost its eligibility to function as a mediator\u201d, until it reverses its decision. In this regard, Moran said she is \u201cin favor of a two-state solution, but until the state of Palestine is recognized, the two actors can\u2019t come to the table as equal partners\u201d.\nPalestine has been recognized by above 70% of the 193 member states of the UN\nThe bill to recognize Palestine as an independent state will be published in the next few days, and, if passed by the Senate, would require the UK Government to officially recognize the state of Palestine within 3 months of the draft law being passed. \nThe international recognition of Palestine as an independent state has been the objective of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) since the Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Palestinian National Council on 15 November 1988 in Algiers. \nToday, Palestine has been recognized by above 70 percent of the 193 member states of the United Nations, and many other countries, such as France, Luxembourg, and Belgium are planning to recognize Palestinian state formally. \nRecognizing Palestine as an independent state by the UK is a concrete expression of support for Palestinian rights and freedom.
