{"id":31374,"date":"2021-01-14T08:50:01","date_gmt":"2021-01-14T06:50:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ecomnewsmed.com\/?post_type=news&p=31374"},"modified":"2021-01-25T12:00:09","modified_gmt":"2021-01-25T10:00:09","slug":"egypt-government-will-soon-migrate-to-the-new-administrative-capital-designed-to-be-a-smart-city","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.ecomnewsmed.com\/en\/2021\/01\/14\/egypt-government-will-soon-migrate-to-the-new-administrative-capital-designed-to-be-a-smart-city\/","title":{"rendered":"Egypt: Government will soon migrate to the new administrative capital, designed to be a smart city"},"content":"\n \n \n \nFrom the second half of 2021, the President of the Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, hopes for a more efficient functioning of the various departments of the State with the technological support of Tiba-1, the country’s first telecommunications satellite. .\n\n \n \n\n\n \n \n \nDuring a hearing granted on Saturday January 9 to the Minister of Communications and Information Technologies, Amr Talaat, and to the President and CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency, Mohamed Afifi, the Head of State spoke of the high expectations that it places in this equipment which will support the digitization projects of the State.\n\n \n \n\n\n \n \n \nLaunched into space on November 26, 2019, the Tiba-1 satellite, designed by Airbus and Thales Alenia Space, is expected to operate at full capacity in the second half of the year. According to the Presidency of the Republic, the equipment should “support the efforts of state agencies in all fields, in particular the efforts of development and digitization of the state, of the fight against crime and terrorism, and improving Internet service in remote areas for individuals and businesses \u201d. It is also expected to “improve the performance of government sectors such as petroleum, energy and mineral wealth, commerce, education and health.”\n\n \n \n\n\n \n \n \nAbdel Fattah al-Sisi wants to be reassured of the optimal use that will be made of the Tiba-1 satellite as the government prepares to migrate to the country’s new administrative capital, a smart city located 45 km east of Cairo and under construction since 2015. In the first quarter of 2021, a full-scale test of the new headquarters of the institutions of the Republic is also planned.\n\n \n \n\n\n \n \n \nLast November, the Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, indicated that the installation in the new administrative capital would induce a “qualitative change in the method and the working mechanisms within the government and its agencies, through the applications of the transformation digital and electronic connectivity \u201d.
