These new lines follow discussions held by the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) for several months with Israeli tourism professionals.\n\n \n \n\n\n \n \n \nAs soon as relations between Morocco and Israel resumed, the Office mobilized itself with the major players in distribution and travel in Israel in order to best support the establishment of direct air links between the two countries. . The sales and commercial vice-presidents of the Israeli company EL AI attended the event and were greeted by Adel El Fakir, general manager of ONMT. A memorandum of understanding was signed between ONMT and the airline El Al, defining the framework for the promotion of the destination Morocco.\n\n \n \n\n\n \n \n \nEl Al’s flight also carried on board tourism professionals, as well as a dozen Israeli journalists and influencers, invited by ONMT. These guests are staying in Morocco until early August. On this occasion, the ONMT is organizing a series of meetings, bringing together Moroccan and Israeli professionals, in Marrakech and Essaouira, in order to generate commercial benefits for the destination Morocco.\n\n \n \n\n\n \n \n \nIt should be noted that El Al will offer three flights per week between its Tel Aviv Ben Gurion base and Marrakech Menara airport, operated by Boeing 737-900ER which can accommodate 16 passengers in business class and 159 in economy. As of August 10, El Al will also operate three weekly rotations to Casablanca Mohammed V airport. A third airline, Arkia, will launch its flights from next September.\n\n \n \n\n\n \n \n \nWith a Moroccan diaspora estimated at 800,000 people, the Israeli market represents great potential for the destination Morocco. Currently, 50,000 to 80,000 Israelis visit the Kingdom annually.
