The event took place in the presence of the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Aimene Benabderrahmane; the Minister of Transport, Aissa Bekkai; the Managing Director of the Algiers Metro Company and Amar Chouaki, Managing Director of Alstom Algeria.\n\n \n \n\n\n \n \n \nIn July 2015, the Algiers Metro Company awarded the consortium made up of Alstom, leader of the project, and its partner Cosider Travaux Publics, the turnkey construction of the extension of the tram line of the agglomeration of Constantine. With a total length of 10.3 kilometers, it connects Zouaghi station to Constantine 2 Abdelhamid Mehri University and the new city of Ali Mendjeli, in 26 minutes.\n\n \n \n\n\n \n \n \nToday, this new line makes it possible to strengthen the urban network for the benefit of the citizen, who can now travel from the old to the new city. As part of this project, Alstom, as leader of the consortium, produced the telecommunications, signaling, traction power, ticketing and railway systems including the catenary.\n\n \n \n\n\n \n \n \n\u201cThanks to excellent teamwork and unwavering dedication, we are launching the commercial entry into service of the Constantine tramway.
