{"id":34278,"date":"2021-10-07T17:26:57","date_gmt":"2021-10-07T15:26:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ecomnewsmed.com\/?post_type=news&#038;p=34278"},"modified":"2021-10-11T09:17:55","modified_gmt":"2021-10-11T07:17:55","slug":"mediterranean-launch-of-phase-ii-of-the-solid-project-for-the-promotion-of-social-dialogue","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.ecomnewsmed.com\/en\/2021\/10\/07\/mediterranean-launch-of-phase-ii-of-the-solid-project-for-the-promotion-of-social-dialogue\/","title":{"rendered":"Mediterranean : Launch of phase II of the SOLID project for the promotion of social dialogue"},"content":"\n  \n    \n      \nThe event brought together more than 120 participants and experts on-site and 48 participants online, representing about fifty social organizations in 6 countries of the southern Mediterranean: Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco.\n\n    \n  \n\n\n  \n    \n      \nThis second phase is a continuation of the SOLID I project implemented from 2016 to 2019, whose general objective was the promotion social dialogue in the southern Mediterranean via a structured dialogue involving various institutions in the South such as socio-professional organizations, trade unions and employers&#8217; organizations as well as NGOs, economic and social councils and representatives of local elected authorities.\n\n    \n  \n\n\n  \n    \n      \nDuring its first phase, this project, led by the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) and its sub-regional structure for the Arab countries (ATUC), by BUSINESSMED and by ANND, has developed a Charter that describes the socio-economic contexts in the first 3 target countries (Morocco, Tunisia and Jordan) and specifies the priorities, objectives and commitments that the social actors in these countries are willing to take in order to promote social dialogue at the national and regional levels.\n\n    \n  \n\n\n  \n    \n\t\t\t\t\t\n\n\t\t    \n  \n\n\n  \n    \n      \nThe second phase will develop a set of field activities and actions, with the development of training workshops, mapping studies and networking initiatives that are likely to promote an exchange of experience and develop a progressive synergy between the various social actors in the southern Mediterranean for the promotion of social dialogue.\n\n    \n  \n\n\n  \n    \n      \nThe kick-off seminar was inaugurated by Henrike TRAUTMANN, Acting Director, Directorate General for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR, European Commission), Abdelkader EL KHISSASSI, Deputy Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) and Mamadou DIALLO, Deputy Secretary General of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC).\n\n    \n  \n\n\n  \n    \n      \nSharan BURROW, General Secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), Luca VISENTINI, General Secretary of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) and Barbara BELTRAME GIACOMELLO, President of the Union of Mediterranean Confederations of Enterprises (BUSINESSMED) addressed to the participants a message of support and encouragement.\n\n    \n  \n\n","author":33,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","template":"","tags":[5751,5784,6182],"location":[5740],"class_list":["post-34278","news","type-news","status-publish","hentry","tag-economy","tag-entrepreneur","tag-social","location-med-2"],"short_url":"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3ldOxhd","have_related_news":"done","chapo":"Supported by the European Commission and led by the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), the Union of Mediterranean Confederations of Enterprises (BUSINESSMED), the Arab NGO Network for Development (ANND) and the Arab Trade Union Confederation (ATUC), the SOLID project in its phase 2 organized its kick-off seminar in Tunis on 29 and 30 September 2021.
