Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Minister of Finance of the United Arab Emirates.\n\n    \n  \n\n\n  \n    \n      \nAkinwumi A. Adesina will also have bilateral meetings with other senior government officials and leaders of parastatals. He will notably meet with the Minister of State for International Cooperation, HE Reem Al Hashimy \u2013 who is also the CEO of Expo 2020 Dubai \u2013 and the Minister of State for African Affairs, HE Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan.\n\n    \n  \n\n\n  \n    \n      \nThe visit will focus primarily on strengthening ties and establishing closer collaboration between the African Development Bank and the United Arab Emirates.\n\n    \n  \n\n\n  \n    \n      \n\u201cWe are keen to see the UAE become a valuable partner and an important investor in Africa,\u201d Mr. Adesina said, adding, \u201cThere are many things the African Development Bank and the UAE can do together. . \u00bb\n\n    \n  \n\n\n  \n    \n      \nGiven the strong push the African Development Bank is giving to infrastructure financing on the continent \u2013 \u200b\u200bamong its other equally important priority areas \u2013 Akinwumi A. Adesina will meet the CEO of Dubai Ports World, H.E. Sultan Bin Sulayem. Dubai Ports World is the largest port operator, operating at 78 marine and inland terminals in over 60 countries. The African Development Bank has been actively involved in financing port infrastructure projects in Africa.\n\n    \n  \n\n\n  \n    \n      \nRenewable energies should be a potential area of \u200b\u200binterest for joint investments. The United Arab Emirates has made significant progress in green growth and renewable energy.\n\n    \n  \n\n\n  \n    \n      \nThe Bank is one of the main cofinanciers of the Desert to Power initiative in the African Sahel, a project that will connect 250 million people to electricity by harnessing the region&#8217;s abundant solar resources.\n\n    \n  \n\n\n  \n    \n      \nThe President of the African Development Bank Group will also visit the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development.\n\n    \n  \n\n\n  \n    \n      \nAs Expo 2020 Dubai wraps up this week and attracts visitors from around the world, Akinwumi A.
