The proportion of young workers aged 15 to 24 who were unemployed was 47.8% at the start of the year, more than double the rate revealed by the ACS in 2020 (23.3%).\n\n \n \n\n\n \n \n \nFinally, the ACS reveals that 62.4% of residents work “informally” (not registered with the National Social Security Fund), an increase of 7.5 points compared to 2018\/2019. The share of residents working in an \u201cinformal sector\u201d (unregulated or illegal) is 48.3%, a jump of 13.1 points from previous results.\n\n \n \n\n\n \n \n \nIn its previous study, the ACS had already noted that the unemployment rate had almost doubled in a decade.
