We are determined to make T\u00fcrkiye the energy center of the Caspian, the Mediterranean and Middle East,&#8221; he continued.\n\n    \n  \n\n\n  \n    \n      \nRegarding the country&#8217;s efforts to fight terrorism, Erdogan announced that T\u00fcrkiye &#8220;will close the gaps in its 30-kilometer deep security line and take new measures to completely eliminate the threats posed by (groups terrorists in) Syria for the country.&#8221;\n\n    \n  \n\n\n  \n    \n      \nThe PKK and its Syrian branch, the YPG, have used terrorist bases on both sides of the Turkish border in northern Iraq and Syria to plan and carry out attacks on T\u00fcrkiye. Along the Syrian border, the group has created a terrorist corridor, threatening both the Syrian and Turkish populations.\n\n    \n  \n\n\n  \n    \n      \nDuring its more than 35-year campaign of terrorism against T\u00fcrkiye, the PKK &#8211; listed as a terrorist organization by T\u00fcrkiye, the United States and the European Union &#8211; has been responsible for the deaths of more than 40 000 people, including women, children and infants.
