The collaboration covers the deployment of 5G in the country \u2018later this year\u2019.\n\n \n \n\n\n \n \n \nUnder the terms of the agreement, Nokia will deploy 5G radio access network (RAN) equipment from its AirScale portfolio in a number of Egyptian cities including Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Aswan and Luxor. The infrastructure provider will not only deploy the network, but also integrate and optimise it.\n\n \n \n\n\n \n \n \nThis partnership comes seven months after Telecom Egypt acquired Egypt’s first 5G licence for $150 million, valid for 15 years. A few days later, the incumbent operator announced that it had launched experimental operations of the next-generation network at five sites across the country. On 27 February, the company signed its first partnership agreement with the Chinese technology company Huawei for the deployment of its ultra high-speed network.\n\n \n \n\n\n \n \n \nTelecom Egypt promises its subscribers enhanced mobile broadband and exciting new applications that take advantage of the speed and low latency of 5G technology. \u20185G technology will bring many benefits, including increased capacity for seamless connectivity in some of Egypt’s most densely populated areas.
