Egypt and Serbia have signed a free trade agreement that should considerably increase trade between the two countries over the next five years. The news comes in a press release issued by the Egyptian government on 15 July 2024.
The agreement aims to facilitate access for Egyptian products to European markets via Serbia, and for Serbian products to African markets via Egypt.
At the Egyptian-Serbian Businessmen’s Forum, the two nations also agreed to strengthen their economic cooperation in a number of key sectors, including agriculture, telecommunications, information technology, infrastructure, housing and tourism.
Trade between the two countries increased by 15% in 2023 compared to 2022, reaching 120.4 million dollars, according to the Egyptian government.
