The Egyptian government is implementing a plan to encourage the establishment of foreign universities on its territory. Several international universities are benefiting from this policy.
Rowan University, a renowned American public university, has announced the launch of a campus in Egypt, its first internationally. The establishment of the campus is part of a collaboration between the American university and Modern Education Services (MES), a US-based investor and educator committed to stimulating innovation and excellence in higher education in Egypt, the Middle East and Africa. The campus located in the new Egyptian administrative capital, has benefited from the Egyptian government’s strategic plan to expand the presence of the world’s best universities in the country. The expected benefit of this plan is that it diversifies the training offer, promotes the transfer of skills, particularly in the field of research and enhances academic reputation.
Already, many universities have benefited from this plan. In June 2022 alone, no fewer than six universities were reported in the new Egyptian capital, including the University of Prince Edward Island in Canada and the University of London in the United Kingdom. In Egypt, the leaders of the American university have committed to offering students the same types of training as in the United States with some modifications aimed at adapting the training to the realities of the local job market. Thus, it will offer undergraduate and graduate courses in the disciplines of engineering, artificial intelligence, business, entrepreneurship, finance and media.
The campus will also offer a unique preparation program that guarantees admission to the Rowan School of Medicine in New Jersey. Rowan University is the third fastest growing public school in the United States, ranked 88th among the top 100 public universities in the United States and ranked 40th for entrepreneurship programs by Princeton Review.
