Morocco and Egypt’s government can be released that the US ban is now over. The both countries were worried about the US measure potentially turning into an international ban. With the beginning of the touristic season, this was the last thing that the authorities needed for their respective economical growth.
Last month the US Department of homeland security decided to ban laptops from several Arab countries. They indeed feared an ISIS attack during a flight with a bomb hidden inside the electronic device. The United State and the Great Britain have jointly banned Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Then the United State has extended the measure over Kuwait, Morocco, Qatar, UAE, Lebanon and Tunisia.
Reactions over the Arab world were unanimously against the ban, which has contributed to cripple the diplomatic relationship between the US and the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) zone.
Last Tuesday, Egypt Air announced that the restriction has been lifted upward for the return flights to New York. Royal Air Maroc made a statement that the ban will be remove for the 13th of July.
Tunisia can be happy too as the United Kingdom took off the measures against laptops and mobile phones.
