From the 6th to the 8th of November the World Travel Market 2017 is taking place in London. During the event Thomas Cook one of the biggest travel operators in the United Kingdom announces that Morocco is specifically strategic to boost commercial performances.
To boost his performance around the world, the Thomas Cook agency focus on Morocco. This year, the touristic agency already organised 700 000 British holidays so far. A number that could be doubled.
On his side, Mr Zouiten the Moroccan Tourism Agency general director « ambitions to reach 1 million British tourists in the next two years ». Indeed the number of British tourists has gradually increased over the last 10 years. The low cost takes off has pushed the tendency in that direction exacerbated by the terrorist attacks and political turmoil happening in the major competitive countries as Tunisia or Egypt. Today more than 90 flights are realised between the United Kingdom and Morocco every week. The Moroccan Tourism Agency released a campaign entitled « much Mor » in reference to Morocco word contraction. The campaign has even been awarded at the World Travel Market in London last year and at many others international events. The Moroccan tourism Union targets 11 million visitors this year.
The famous book collection the Lonely Planet classifies Essaouira as on the « Best Value Destinations » around the world for the 2018 edition.
