Having achieved a great success with more than 11 million tourists hosted in 2017, Morocco is preparing a new strategy for 2020 in order to keep moving forward.
The kingdom of Morocco which is one of the great tourism destinations in the Mediterranean, is preparing the future of that sector that weighs 6, 6% (2016) of the Gross domestic product (GDP).
As for 2018 and 2020, the Ministry of tourism is paving the way for a new road map to boost the attractiveness of the “Morocco destination”. Beside financing, training and regionalization, the new strategy will include air transport with the implementation of phases 3 and 4 of the Open Sky agreement.
Moreover, the tourism ministry is aiming at increasing the number of airlines routes linking Morocco to Europe, on the strength of the low-cost airlines that are particularly interested in building bridges between both sides of the Mediterranean to boost their business.
for 2020, the government is preparing to host around 15 million tourists, which represents an income of 15 billion dollars.
