The Duke of Cambridge, second heir on the line to the England throne, will go on an official tour in the Middle East from June 24th to June 28th. This trip was requested by the government during the last celebration of the 70th anniversary of Israël.
The Duke and the Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate.
Prince William’s trip will take place from June 24th to June 28th. He will arrive in Jordania, then go to Israël and to the Palestinian territories. It is the first time since the nineteenth century that a member of the Royal family goes on an official tour in the Middle East.
First, he will land in Amman, the capital of Jordania. The Prince will go from Amman to Jerash, another Jordanian city. The Royal Jordanian family will receive the Prince during his stay in the country.
On June 25th, the Duke will travel to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem where the Israeli presidential couple will formally receive him. It is believed that William will visit his great-grandmother grave at the Mount Olives.
The following days, he will attend an official meeting with President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah.
Finally, the last day (June 28th) will be entirely dedicated to visiting Jerusalem.
Considering the recent inauguration of the US embassy in Jerusalem that lead to violent repercussions for Gaza, this official trip is falling within a critical time of the Middle East conflict.
