Turkey and Albania are now "strategic partners", announced the President of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (Turkish Parliament), Mustafa Sentop.

The head of parliament paid a visit to the Albanian capital Tirana on February 4. After talks, he moderated a joint press briefing with his Albanian counterpart, Gramoz Ruchi, Welcoming the “excellent relations” between Ankara and Tirana, Sentop said they were elevated to the level of “strategic partnership” during the visit of Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama to Ankara on January 6-7. 

Sentop also warned Albania against the presence of the terrorist organization FETO on its territory. 

“FETO is present in Albania as well, as in several other Balkan countries, he said. We will not allow it to poison our relations with this country. The head of the Parliament added that “the Turkish consulate will start working very soon in the city of Vlora”. “We are determined to increase our trade volume to 1 billion dollars, he concluded. We will thus contribute to the development of tourism in the south of Albania. »
