Jordan obtains new aid from the IMF for 4 years for $1.2 billion and maintains its sovereign rating at BB- despite the regional context

The IMF signs an agreement with the Jordanian authorities relating to a new four-year Extended Fund Facility (EFF) for an amount of USD 1.2 billion. For its part, Fitch Ratings confirms Jordan's foreign currency sovereign rating at "BB-" with a stable outlook despite the regional context.

Syria: Donor countries pledge €5.6 billion in humanitarian aid

At the Brussels conference on June 15, donor countries pledged to grant EUR 5.6 billion in grants for humanitarian aid in Syria. The aid should make it possible to help the 15 million people living in Syria, but also to support neighboring states which are hosting Syrian refugees.

Jordan received public aid of 4.4 billion dollars in 2022, one of the most important aids compared to other countries

The annual report published by the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation (MoPIC) details the international aid commitments signed in 2022 for Jordan, the amount of which amounts to 4.4 billion USD in 2022. In value, the Commitments are stable compared to 2021 when they were valued at USD 4.4 billion by the MoPIC, i.e. around USD 396 per inhabitant. As a percentage of GDP, they drop from 9.7% in 2021 to 9.2% in 2022.
