Middle East War: What is Iran's oil management strategy and…

Since the start of the second war between Israel and the United States against Iran in less than a year, Tehran's strategy of precipitating a rise in global oil prices by blocking the Strait of Hormuz has sidestepped the question of the conflict's potential consequences for the Iranian oil sector.

Israel: What are the economic consequences of military operations in Gaza for the country? Analysis

The expansion of military operations in the Gaza Strip could represent an additional cost of around 15 billion Israeli newcomers (4.1 billion US dollars). The defense budget of 120 billion Israeli newcomers for 2025, of which 17 billion Israeli newcomers are intended to cover reserve service needs, could prove insufficient.

Israel: Despite the war, the shekel outperformed in 2024, a sign of the resilience of the Israeli economy, and 2025 is expected to see strong growth.

A strong recovery is expected in 2025, with the government forecasting growth of 4.6%. The Bank of Israel (BOI) has kept its key interest rate unchanged at 4.5% since January 2024, making Israeli financial assets attractive to investors and helping to contain inflation, strengthening confidence in the local currency.

The problem of rebuilding Lebanon following the war with Israel is added to that of recovering a country in deep crisis since 2019. It is therefore interesting to look back at the most recent experiences in reconstruction, in 2006 and 2020, which did not allow Lebanon to put itself on a sustainable development trajectory despite significant international financial support.
