“Congratulations,” Israel’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Amir Hayek, wrote on Twitter.
The Israeli Ministry of Economy therefore qualified on May 30 in a written statement, “this agreement as important because it works to strengthen economic ties between the two countries in various fields”.
“This agreement provides for the abolition of customs duties on nearly 95% of the products traded between the two countries, in the sectors of foodstuffs, agriculture, cosmetics, medical equipment, medicines“, explained the same source.
And the ministry continues: “regulatory issues, customs, cooperation, public procurement, electronic commerce and the preservation of intellectual property rights are also included in this agreement”.
Note that the United Arab Emirates has not issued any official comment on this subject.
Recall that the Israeli Minister of Economy and Industry, Orna Barbivai, arrived in the United Arab Emirates on May 29 to sign the agreement, according to Amir Hayek.
