He stressed that the transport of cereals, sunflower oil and fertilizers from Ukraine and Russia to international markets is of great importance, “otherwise the whole world will continue to face a major food crisis. “, he pointed out.

He clarified that President Erdogan has indicated to the Russian and Ukrainian leaders that Türkiye is ready to play a facilitating role, adding that Ukraine and Russia have given a positive response to the proposal to conduct the process through Türkiye.

“Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he will give necessary instructions to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who will visit our country on June 8,” Kalin continued.

“We have stated that the negotiations will take place here, under the aegis of our Foreign Minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu. Therefore, the details of this issue will be clarified during the visit scheduled for next week. The Republic of Türkiye is ready lead the process,” he added.

While noting that some issues need to be resolved through technical negotiations, Ibrahim Kalin said: “All these issues will be decided in the meetings that will be held in Türkiye over the next two weeks. Thus, Türkiye will have undertaken a very important task to prevent the global food crisis“.
