Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman discussed, on June 22, a new era of cooperation, particularly in the political, economic, military, security and cultural fields, as well as the strengthening of bilateral ties.
According to a joint statement, the Turkish and Saudi leaders stressed the two countries’ determination to start a new era of comprehensive cooperation in many fields. Ankara and Riyadh have decided to deepen consultation and cooperation on regional issues to enhance stability and peace in the region, the same source said.
The two leaders vowed to develop and maintain cooperation based on the “historic brotherhood” between the two nations. They further stressed the importance of increasing the number of flights, facilitating bilateral trade, exploring investment opportunities and turning them into concrete partnerships, the joint statement said.
Saudi Arabia expressed its gratitude to Turkey for supporting Riyadh’s bid to host EXPO 2030, the same source added.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a two-day working visit to Saudi Arabia at the end of April with the aim of strengthening bilateral ties.
During his visit, the Turkish President met with Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, as well as the Crown Prince, and discussed various international, regional and bilateral issues.
Ankara and Riyadh are determined to continue their efforts for the common interests and stability of the region, Erdogan said at the end of his visit to Saudi Arabia.
