The reintegration of Syria into regional and international bodies continues. A Syrian delegation led by Finance Minister Kenan Yaghi attended the annual meeting of the World Bank and the IMF in Marrakech from October 9 to 15.
Although the World Bank and the IMF have suspended all operations in the country since 2011, the Minister of Finance presented opportunities for recovery projects and pleaded for the reintegration of Syria in the analysis reports of the two institutions.
Despite the absence of numerous indicators, since last year the World Bank has produced biannual reports on the impacts of the conflict on the Syrian economy, as well as assessments of losses and damage linked to recent disasters.
