The President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has assured that, against all expectations, Turkey will show strong growth in the third quarter of the year, even if "some want to prevent its rise".
The Turkish Head of State spoke on September 19 at the inauguration ceremony of the 5th section of the “Marmara North” highway, which connects the towns of Gebze and Izmit in the northwest.
In his speech, Erdogan wanted to highlight Turkey’s successes in the economic field, despite the Covid-19 pandemic, and the bad intentions of certain international circles who want to stop the development of the country.
“By continuing to produce in the 3rd quarter of the year, we have left behind us an important part of the consequences of the pandemic [of Covid-19]”, he was initially pleased, recalling that the growth in the 2nd quarter, admittedly negative, was less bad than many developed countries around the world.
“We will end the third quarter with a growth rate that will satisfy everyone,” he said, believing that this performance will have positive effects on job creation.
But the Turkish president wanted to reverse the downward ratings assigned by some international rating agencies.
“Some want to force Turkey again to struggle with its internal issues in order to prevent our awakening a century later,” he said.
