The two entities have signed a partnership agreement at the end of which they will co-develop and deploy innovative projects with high added value.

Abdelhamid Addou, CEO of Royal Air Maroc and Hicham El Habiti, President of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), signed a global partnership agreement articulated around research and innovation with a view to creation of a “Digital Innovation Lab”.

The objective of this DILAB will be to allow the two parties to co-develop and deploy innovative projects with high added value based on issues identified by the airline. This open space for skills, active in action research, training, advice and project deployment, will engage all of the employees of

Royal Air Maroc, teachers, researchers, students and staff of UM6P around a collaborative innovation approach.

“This action is part of Royal Air Maroc’s desire to implement an approach of Research and Development and continuous experimentation with the aim of bringing out innovative projects, based on issues identified by the Company” stresses Abdelhamid Addou.

UM6P and Royal Air Maroc will thus combine their efforts in order to develop a digital and intelligent component around the products offered by the airline, whether to passenger customers or to other categories of customers, but also to explore new business opportunities. innovation linked to the strategic and operational challenges of Royal Air Maroc in order to develop innovative ideas adapted to market realities and international trends in the sector.

“DILAB will also allow both parties to continuously experiment, test new solutions with a community of users and develop partnerships with external actors, with the support of the UM6P global network.

To do this, the Digital Innovation Lab will mobilize multidisciplinary skills (researchers, professionals, business teams, development agents, etc.) in areas relating to the development of defined projects ”continues Hicham El Habiti. Royal Air Maroc will contribute to the establishment of this DILAB through the mobilization of human resources.

The Company will co-host and pilot the DILAB platform and will be responsible for the deployment of initiatives or projects resulting from the work of the laboratory. For its part, UM6P, the University of Research, Innovation and Training of Excellence, will provide Royal Air Maroc with the infrastructure and logistical and human resources necessary for the creation of DILAB. The university will also provide support to Royal Air Maroc in setting up partnerships in the digital field.

DILAB’s action will be broken down into several initiatives or projects that will be subject to monitoring and control protocols. Today, DILAB launches its first initiative with the development of an operational model for forecasting demand.
