Finance Minister Laaziz Faid received US Ambassador to Algeria Elizabeth Moore Aubin on March 29 in Algiers, with whom he discussed the state of bilateral economic and financial cooperation, the ministry said. in a press release.
During this meeting, the Minister of Finance and the American diplomat proceeded to “an overview of the state of bilateral economic and financial cooperation and the ways and means to consolidate them”, indicated the same source.
“The two parties underlined in this regard, the excellence of the multifaceted historical ties uniting the two countries and pleaded to strengthen them further through a win-win partnership,” the statement said.
Laaziz Faid took this opportunity to discuss with his interlocutor the reform projects undertaken by the public authorities, particularly in the areas of the budget, diversification of the economy and improvement of the business climate.
“In this regard, he expressed the wish to see a greater presence of American companies on the Algerian market, in particular, thanks to the facilitations and advantages provided for in the new framework governing investment in Algeria”, indicates the ministry.
For her part, Elisabeth Moore Aubin confirmed “the growing interest” in the Algerian market by many American companies in sectors other than hydrocarbons.
This interview was also an opportunity to underline “with satisfaction” the positive results of the various cooperation actions in progress, notes the press release.
In addition, the American ambassador showed the availability of the authorities of her country to continue and expand cooperation actions with the Ministry of Finance.
