"Türkiye will launch new military operations on the Syrian border as soon as preparations are completed," Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced after a cabinet meeting chaired Monday in the capital Ankara.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan also indicated that Turkey’s counter-terrorism operations in Iraq continue successfully.

Regarding the upcoming North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit scheduled for Spain, President Erdogan said that the Turkish delegation will attend the event and “will do whatever is necessary for us, in respect for the rights and interests of the country”.

“We will express to our interlocutors the hypocrisies exhibited with regard to terrorist organizations such as the PKK/YPG and FETO with documents, information and images,” he added.

During its more than 35-year terrorist campaign against Türkiye, the PKK, classified as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the United States and the European Union, has been responsible for the deaths of more than 40,000 people.

FETO orchestrated the failed July 15, 2016 coup in Türkiye, which left 251 people and 2,734 injured.

Ankara accuses FETO of being behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state by infiltrating Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police and judiciary.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan also indicated that Türkiye has discovered oil reserves worth a billion dollars in the province of Adana, in the south of the country.
