Palestinian health authorities recorded one death and 162 new infections due to the coronavirus on September 6 in the blockaded Gaza Strip.
The health ministry said in a statement that the toll of contaminations was 969 confirmed cases, including eight deaths and 89 cases of recovery.
“The number of active cases in Gaza has risen to 873,” the ministry said, calling on residents to adhere to health protocols to help stem the spread of the virus in the Gaza Strip.
The Hamas-led government imposed full containment on Gaza on August 24 to help stem the epidemic in the blockaded enclave.
