Brian Krzanich, Intel Corp’s CEO announced in a speech pronounced at the 18th Las Vegas electronic meeting edition a collaboration with the Chinese SAIC Motor to build the first autonomous car with the Israeli technology developed by Mobileye.
Mobileye was at the very beginning an Israeli startup bought by the giant Intel in March 2017 for the record amount of 15,3 billion dollars. Now the company is the leader of what a car could « see » thanks to the captors and the cameras.
The Ford company presented one autonomous car, the first from 100 vehicles being developed.
The car developed by Intel and Mobileye has 12 cameras, speed cameras, laser scanner and computer technology after CNBS. 3 high resolutions cameras with 180 degrees field of view are settled in front of the car which can get a 300 meters grasp.
Brian Krzanich detailed that the REM (Road Experience Management) technology will be used by the famous brand as BMW, Nissan, or Volkswagen. Mobileye is now connecting data to update high-resolution cards. Ferrari North America Inc is also interested in artificial intelligence programmes developed by Mobileye.
The Intel Corp’s CEO insisted on how those cars could change the society. On its side, the Intel society created a new generation wireless Wifi allowing the users to raise 40% of their connection speed.
